Works & Technical

 Introduction

The Works department comprises of 3 units (Roads, technical Services; and Water and Sanitation). The department ensures proper quality in design, construction, inspection and maintenance of all Local Administration building structures and roads. This section presents selected statistics on work services delivery.

Roads

The national roads are developed and maintained by the Ministry of Works and Transport. The District Local Government maintains district roads, the Town council maintains the Urban roads and and Subcounties maintain the Community access roads. The Gravel/marrum roads take up a total distance of 288.8 kms. A detailed table shows all roads by length and condition.
